PRESIDENT JOSEPH ROBINETTE BIDEN, JR. ~ THURSDAY, AUGUST 26, 2021
In the morning, President Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. will receive the President’s Daily Brief at 8:30 AM.
Then, President Biden will meet with his national security team to hear intelligence, security, and diplomatic updates on the evolving situation in Afghanistan. President Biden's meeting will be convened at the White House Situation Room at 9:15 AM.
Then at 11:30 AM, President Biden will participate in a bilateral meeting with His Excellency Naftali Bennett, Prime Minister of the State of Israel, at the White House Oval Office on Thursday, August 26, 2021. The White House stated, this visit will strengthen the enduring partnership between the United States and Israel, and the visit reflects the deep ties between the governments and people of both nation states. The visit also underscores the United States’ unwavering commitment to Israel’s security.
Later at 11:55 AM, President Biden will participate in an expanded bilateral meeting with His Excellency Naftali Bennett, Prime Minister of the State of Israel, at the White House Oval Office. The leaders will discuss critical issues related to regional and global security, including Iran; efforts to advance peace, security, and prosperity for Israelis and Palestinians; and the importance of working towards a more peaceful and secure future for the region.
In the afternoon at 3:00 PM, President Biden will meet virtually, at the White House South Court Auditorium, with a bipartisan group of willing Governors who are temporarily housing or helping resettle vulnerable Afghans. President Biden is meeting with Governors who have agreed to welcome SIV applicants and Afghans to their new communities while they are being screened and vetted by intelligence, law enforcement, and counterterrorism professionals. The White House announed, SIV applicants and Afghans will undertake extensive COVID-19 and other public health precautions in close coordination with public health officials.
VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA DEVI HARRIS ~ THURSDAY, AUGUST 26, 2021
At 9:55 AM ICT, Vice President Harris will meet with change makers who are driving social change in Vietnam. This event will be convened at the Chief of Mission’s Residence.
At 11:45 AM ICT, Vice President Harris will participate in an Embassy meet and greet with Embassy personnel at the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam. This event will be convened at the JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi.
At 2:40 PM ICT, Vice President Harris will present remarks and take questions from the Press at the JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi.
At 3:20 PM HST, Vice President Harris will participate in a troop engagement event at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
At 4:40 PM HST, Vice President Harris will depart Hawaii en route San Francisco, California. Vice President Harris will leave from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Then, Vice President Harris will remain overnight on Air Force Two. The Vice President will remain overnight aboard Air Force Two.
