Ceremonially Swears in Julissa Reynoso Pantaleon

At 5:30 PM EST, Vice President Harris will ceremonially swear in Julissa Reynoso Pantaleon to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Kingdom of Spain, and to serve concurrently and without additional compensation as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Principality of Andorra. Reynoso Pantaleon had been first lady Jill Biden's chief of staff, prior to her Senate confirmation, and co-chair of the Gender of Policy Council at the White House. She is also a former U.S. ambassador to Uruguay.
At 5:53 pm, first lady Jill Biden, who had not been a publicly announced attendee, entered the Vice President's Ceremonial Office for the swearing-in ceremony of Reynoso Pantaleón.
Vice President Harris followed First Lady Dr. Jill Biden in. First Lady Dr. Jill Biden stood off to one side.
Vice President Harris had to double back though and said as she did, "It might be helpful if I have the card that I'm going to swear her in on." Julissa Reynoso Pantaleón and her family entered the room next.
At the top of the ceremony Vice President Harris acknowledged the First Lady, prompting a round of applause from attendees of the ceremony.
Vice President Harris proceded to deliver the oath to Julissa Reynoso Pantaleon. At the end she told the new ambassador "congratulations" and shook her hand.
Vice President Harris then hugged Julissa Reynoso Pantaleon's mother, who held the Bible that her daughter was sworn in on. She had been standing next to Vice President Harris.
"Thank you, everybody," Julissa Reynoso Pantaleón said, as attendees applauded.
Vice President Harris suggested they take a group picture and they all did, including First Lady Dr. Jill Biden.
Neither Vice President Harris nor the First Lady answered questions. Vice President Harris left the room as did Dr. Biden moments after her.
The event concluded at 5:56 pm.

They depart from the White House South Grounds at 11:15 AM, en route to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. At 12:10 PM EST, President Biden and Dr. Biden depart Joint Base Andrews in Maryland en route Denver International Airport.
At 2:15 PM MST, President Biden and the First Lady arrive at Denver International Airport of Denver, Colorado.
In the afternoon at 2:35 PM, President Biden and the First Lady will depart Denver, Colorado en route Louisville, Colorado. President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden will depart from Denver International Airport en route to Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield, Colorado.
At 3:00 PM, President Biden and Dr. Biden arrive at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport en route to a neighborhood in Louisville, Colorado.
Later at 3:30 PM, President Biden and the First Lady will tour a neighborhood in Louisville, Colorado.
Then at 4:35 PM MST, President Biden and the First Lady will meet with families who were impacted by the Marshall Fire. President Biden will also present brief remarks on his Administration’s response to recent wildfires at the Louisville Recreation & Senior Center in Louisville, Colorado.
In the evening, President Biden and the First Lady will depart Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport, Broomfield, Colorado en route Denver International Airport and travel further to Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada.
